We are excited to announce that starting mid-January the Fr. Val McInnes Center for Catholic Life will partially reopen to the public. Some things will still be different about how we are open and when, so please see below for more details.
As you may remember, due to budget constraints we were unable to hire student receptionists this fall. This prevented us from opening the building outside of Mass times. Without adequate personnel to provide regular cleaning and supervision of our spaces, we could not ensure a safe environment during the pandemic for students to study and relax inside the building. But thanks to a generous anonymous donation we will now be able to hire student receptionists this coming Spring 2021!
–The first floor of the center will open from 9am - 5pm, Monday through Friday, in weeks when classes are in session (January 19–May 7, 2021). Though there may be some delays in opening right at the beginning of the semester.
–Social distancing, mask-wearing, contact-tracing, and sanitizing will be required, in keeping with city of New Orleans regulations at the time.
–The kitchen will not be available for student use.
–The first floor will be available again this semester for Bible Studies to reserve during:
Monday - Thursday: 5pm - 11pm
Friday: 5pm - 8pm
–The third floor will remain closed to the public, but the classroom will be available for Tulane Catholic groups to reserve for meetings during weekday office hours: 9am - 5pm.
–The chapel will remain open on the same schedule as the Fall Semester:
Sunday: for Masses, and 8-11pm (adoration)
Monday - Thursday: 9am - 5pm, and 8-11pm (adoration)
Last but not least: Student Receptionist applications are open on our website until January 3rd. Click here to apply!
