"No one ever starved to death because they didn't have time to eat," notes Father Jacques Philippe in his book about prayer: Time for God. But many of us presume we have no time for prayer. Now's the time to take the time!
Registration is now open for our Spring Silent Retreat April 14-16, 2023!
The silent retreat is open to everyone (18+), students and non-students alike. Priority will be given to students. **No refunds for individual cancellations will be given after the February 28th deadline. ***Financial assistance may be available on a case-by-case basis (please contact tschaefg@tulane.edu to request assistance).
PLEASE READ
If I can't use my phone, how will I wake up? Please track down and purchase or borrow an alarm. You will not have access to your phone for the entirety of the retreat.
Are we going to be silent the whole weekend? Yes, the only opportunities for speaking will be in common prayer/Mass and in confession. There are no opportunities to discuss with other retreaters.
Will I have free time? Retreaters are advised not to bring any books, computers, or other work, or even leisure items to the retreat. The only book you will need is the Bible and a journal to write in. Please do not bring anything else that you plan to read/work on. Give the whole weekend to God. There will be plenty of time for prayer and rest in between conferences.
When will we leave and return? We will depart campus bat 8am on Friday and return to campus by 5:00pm on Sunday. Lunch will be served on Friday night at arrival and lunch will be served on Sunday before departure.
Can I register and then back out later? It is not recommended that you do this as refunds are not available as the retreat center will charge us even if you do not show up. Due to this, you must pay in advance.
