The Fr. Val Ambrose McInnes, O.P. Center for Catholic Life is a new home and starting point for efforts to strengthen the Catholic presence on campus and better serve the Tulane University community. Fr. Val was the first Dominican friar to serve as chaplain for Tulane students as well as a beloved priest and friend to generations of Tulane students, faculty, staff and the local community until his passing in November 2011. The new center continues his legacy of fostering the engagement of Catholic faith with higher education.
It includes:
Large veranda-style porch facing Zimple St.
Dedicated areas for study & learning (library, classroom, conference room)
A 130-seat chapel that will provide a sacred space for students
A large social hall on the first floor and area for food preparation
Office space for chaplain and staff
