I am a Catholic Tulane student or alum and want to get married... If you would like to be prepared for marriage through Tulane Catholic, please contact Fr. Thomas Schaefgen (504-866-0984, or tschaefg@tulane.edu) at least 8 months before the proposed wedding date. Please contact the priest or deacon you want to officiate at your wedding before securing the date and location.
I am a Catholic Tulane student and I was never confirmed... We offer Confirmation preparation only for current students of Tulane University who were raised Catholic but never confirmed or who are baptized non-Catholics entering full communion with the Catholic Church. Please contact Fr. Thomas Schaefgen (504-866-0984, or tschaefg@tulane.edu) for more information about how to be confirmed. We do not offer confirmation preparation for children, high school students, or adults who are not Tulane students. Please contact the parish in which you reside.
I have an infant that I would like to baptize... Tulane Students, Faculty, Staff and Families who regularly attend Sunday Mass at Tulane Catholic are welcome to have infants baptized at the Chapel. Please contact Fr. Thomas Schaefgen (504-866-0984, or tschaefg@tulane.edu). If you have not baptized a child before, you will be required to attend a preparation session and the godparents will need to meet the requirements of Canon Law and the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
I have young children who need Catechesis and First Communion... Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate the formation needs of families with young children, however you arewelcome to bring your family to Tulane Catholic for Mass and our other events. Please contact the parish in which you reside (check this map to locate your parish) to enroll your children in catechesis (also called CCD, PRE, PSR, etc.).
I come to Tulane Catholic and my child would like to get married... Please have your child contact Fr. Thomas Schaefgen (504-866-0984, or tschaefg@tulane.edu). Normally, unless your son or daughter regularly attends Tulane Catholic, it is best for him or her to go to the parish in which he/she resides and request the sacrament. Because we are not a parish but a campus ministry, we may not be able to accommodate your request.
