Thank you for your support of Tulane Catholic's campus ministry! We know now is a difficult time financially for everyone. We're doing our best to keep the faith alive on the digital campus for Tulane students around the world, offering continued formation through classes, bible studies, social time, and more, all online!

It doesn’t matter what the outcome is, nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus (Romans 8). God is especially present to us now. It’s during times like these that saints are in the making. And that, after all, is our mission… to help each other grow together into the saints we are called to be. As I’ve said recently, this present crisis is no obstacle to our sanctity––it is the path. No matter what is going on around me, I can still be faithful, and love God and my neighbor.

Tulane Catholic will be re-opening for the Spring Semester! Below is our re-opening plan.
–The first floor of the center will open from 9am - 5pm, Monday through Friday, in weeks when classes are in session (January 19–May 7, 2021). Though there may be some delays in opening right at the beginning of the semester.
–The first floor will be available again this semester for Bible Studies to reserve during:
Monday - Thursday: 5pm - 11pm
Friday: 5pm - 8pm
–Social distancing, mask-wearing, contact-tracing, and sanitizing will be required, in keeping with city of New Orleans regulations at the time.
–The kitchen will not be available for student use.
–The third floor will remain closed to the public, but the classroom will be available for Tulane Catholic groups to reserve for meetings during weekday office hours: 9am - 5pm.
–The chapel will remain open on the same schedule as the Fall Semester:
Sunday: for Masses, and 8-11pm (adoration)
Monday - Thursday: 9am - 5pm, and 8-11pm (adoration)
Beginning Wednesday, August 12th, for the 12pm Daily Mass, registration will no longer be required to attend Mass at Tulane Catholic. A volunteer monitor will be assigned for each Mass to ensure that attendance does not surpass the 50% capacity limit for the chapel. Attendees above this number will be asked to sit downstairs and watch on the projector screen or return for a later Mass.
To attend any Mass, simply enter through the Audubon Street door (not the front porch), go directly to the chapel, and wear a mask and observe social distancing at all times inside.
The Mass schedule for Spring 2021 is the same as previous years. There will be no 9:00pm masses on Sundays.
Yes!
The Chapel will open during these hours:
Sunday: 9am - 12pm & 5pm - 11pm
Monday-Thursday: 9am - 5pm & 8pm - 11pm
Friday: 9am - 5pm
Saturday: CLOSED
Enter the chapel via the outdoor stair on the side of the building (2nd floor). This door will remain open during the above scheduled times.
You must wear a mask at all times in the chapel and maintain social distancing. Please respect the chapel and do not use the space for meetings, socializing, or studying.
Confessions are available before Masses, in the confessional in the 2nd floor chapel (be sure to wear a mask):
Sunday: 9:00-9:45am, 5:00-5:45pm
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 11:30-11:50am
Tuesday, Thursday: 12:00-12:20pm
If you are uncomfortable using the confessional at this time, please contact Fr. Thomas (tschaefg@tulane.edu) to arrange an appointment.
Our plan right now is to still offer Supper after Mass in “to-go” containers. Our cooks will take extra precautions to prevent the spread of virus and to keep everyone safe!

Wear your mask, find a spot on the porch, and start hanging out! If you remain at the same table and with those in your household, you may remove your mask. But always remember to put it back on to visit with another group.

Yes, all key fobs will be reactivated in the Spring Semester!
The following events/programming are cancelled either for the Fall, or the entire academic year:
There are a variety of reasons why we chose to cancel the above events and programming. However, at the heart of the decision was a desire to simplify our ministry, return to the basics, and have intentional conversations with students about 3 very important things: prayer, discipleship, and mission. So, we've already started rolling out a plan to make those conversations happen.
Many of the programs and events that were cancelled were good. Some were really great. Some may return next semester, or next year. Others will not. Not all of those decisions are made yet. But we knew that we couldn't go on with "business as usual". That really meant busy-ness as usual.
Most importantly, prayer and the sacraments are not cancelled. We are determined to open the chapel for students to have access to a quiet place for prayer and reflection. Our Mass and Confessions schedule is the same.
We have plans to keep Sunday Night Supper going (with some changes, of course).
We also plan to hold our Encounter Retreat in the Spring Semester! We will also be having formation nights once a month at the Catholic Center featuring guest speakers and open to all students!
